Tour 1 (T1): Brugge – Wednesday, September 17 
Half day walking tour (13.30 – 17.00 hrs)
Also called the ‘Venice of the North’, Brugge has more than 50 bridges. A boat trip on the enchanting canals is part of the excursion as are visits to 13th century Halls and Belfry, the Chapel of the Holy Blood, the 12th century hospital of St.-John, the Beguinage and the Lake of Love.
The guided visit will start form the “Zand” square just in front of the Concertgebouw Congress Centre. Languages will be provided according to the participants’ native language.

Tour 2 (T2): Highlights of the Belgian Coastline, Thursday, September 18 
Full day (09.00-17.00 hrs)
Oostende and the Belgian Coast are reached after a 30 minutes’ bus ride. We will visit the three-master Mercator, the Seamen’s Memorial, the Lighthouse, etc. Visit of the ‘Fort Napoléon’, a Fort built by Napoleon in defence against a possible invasion from England. A British invasion never came, but during the two world wars, the fort was used by the German military. Afternoon visit of the Oyster Beds, situated close to the beach and the dunes. You will be invited to taste a few oysters, amongst others the famous “Ostendaise”.
Bus transport, entrance tickets and lunch are included.

Tour 3 (T3): Ypres and Flanders Fields, Friday, September 19          
Full day (09.00 – 17.30 hrs)
Visit of the museum ‘In Flanders Fields’, the most spectacular World War I museum ever. The lively evocation of the terrors of war will leave no visitor untouched. Visit of the infamous battlefields of the Great War and the Menin Gate in the afternoon.
Bus transport, entrance tickets and lunch are included.

Tour 4 (T4): Gent – Thursday, September 20
Full day (09.00 – 18.00 hrs)
After a 30 minutes bus ride, we arrive in Gent where we will visit the St Bavo Cathedral with a crypt dating from 941. This cathedral also houses the celebrated Gent Altarpiece (1432) painted by the Flemish Van Eyck brothers.
Important Middle Age buildings such as the Belfry and the Castle of the Counts will be visited.
Bus transport, entrance tickets and lunch are included.

Cancellation
The tours will only take place if there are at least 20 participants. If one of the tours is cancelled by the organisers, registered accompanying persons will be notified in time and will receive a 100 % refund.
Participants cancelling before August 31, 2008 will receive a 50 % refund.

A written confirmation of cancellation is mandatory in order to receive this refund. There will be no refunds for cancellations received after August 31. All refunds are processed after the Congress.
